my boyfriend (olin) and i hit the six-month mark on saturday, and to celebrate, i made him a mix CD!  not as cool as  mixtape, granted, but i don’t even have a cassette player anymore.  anyway, to make things cool, i made a neat cd cover for it, and i think it came out pretty dandy!

Most are of my boyfriend and mine’s new cat, Oliver.  My boyfriend is the one with the hawk!  The redhead is our new housemate, Aliina.  :)

Hey guys!  Sorry, I meant to update this more, but I haven’t been very good at that.  My latest projects involve designing, coding, and maintaining the website for a very cool movie.  It’s co-written by my older brother, and directed/filmed by his friend Evan Ing.  The movie’s called 3 A.M. in Miracle City; it’s film noir meets superheroes with awesome special effects.  You can see what I have up and running at miraclecitymovie.com!

Other than that, I’ve just been busy developing my own film and printing my own black and white photos.  Here’s a few I’ve done for class!

Hi all!  Some pretty awesome things are happening lately.  The most awesome of it all is that a few days ago, I sent my favorite hip-hop artist, Astronautalis, a portrait I drew of him in celebration of his new album!  I didn’t think he would get back to me - but he did!  And he loved it!  And he put it up as his default photo on myspace, and I could not be any more honored.  Here’s the picture itself:

I’m so stoked that he liked it.  He became one of my favorite musicians whenI first heard him last year.  I love his layers of sounds and the tiny little details that you can’t hear unless you’re listening to him through headphones.  He’s aboslutely amazing, and I cannot wait for his new album, Pomegranate, to be released.

Hi all, I’m sorry I haven’t written here in forever.  I finally edited my blog layout to fit in more with my website one, and I’ll try to update this more with news of my art and photography!

Which is my first order of business really; in the past year or so, I have become increasingly more and more interested in photography, rather than illustration.  I’ve been on the phone with one of the very nice admissions representatives from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and I’m planning on going there within a semester or two to study photography!  Right now I’m enrolled at Hawaii Community College with a Liberal Arts major, but I’m taking my first analog photography course, and it’s so exciting! :)  This Thursday, we’re going to learn how to develop our own film!

I’ve also submitted some photos to a lowfi indie analog magazine, shutter skin.  They added me, and I was interested in their project, so hopefully some of my photos will be published in a small scale!  Right now, my main focus is getting my photos out there, so all of my photos on flickr will soon be free to use and reproduce, as long as I am properly credited!  Exciting?  I hope so.  Here’s some of the photos I’ve been taking lately, just so you all can see what I’ve been up to!
